Game Engine Black Book: Wolfenstein 3D, 2nd Edition

The Game Engine Black Book Wolfenstein 3D, 2nd Edition has shipped. It is available at the following locations:

- Amazon (US, UK, FR, CA, and many more).
- Google PlayStore (here).

All errata which readers kindly took the time to report have been addressed. Adrian Carmack has retired from anything related to id Software but John Romero and Tom Hall both wrote a foreword. In total, three out of the four founders participated to the book.

John Romero also volunteered to proof-read and check-fact the entire thing. The most noticeable change is that the layout has been completely revised. There are no more big "blanks" which gave some pages an amateurish visual aspect.

Last but not least, new content has been added. With high-resolution scan of the game boxes, a high-resolution scan (with a map) of the Intel 80386 CPU, and a few sprinkles of trivia, it should be yummy.

Errata

If you find any errors in this version, please submit them on the Game Engine Black Book: Wolfenstein 3D, 2nd edition errata sheet.

Pricing

I want to take the opportunity of this article to be a little more transparent about the pricing model. When a PDF is uploaded on Createspace, a minimum sale price is automatically generated. The major factors are the number of pages and the color model. In the case of the Wolfenstein 3D Black Book (317 pages, full color), it is $40.00. Selling it at this price I would get $0 per book sold.

There is a slider which you can use to add the author's share on top of Amazon's price. Adding $4.00 results in roughly $2.00 profit per book sold.
